For the first time ever, TONI&GUY hosted a digital broadcast and local watch parties for their annual TONI&GUY Photographic Awards.
Each year, the professionals from the 43 salons and 21 TONI&GUY academies compete in the Photographic Awards, an annual event established in 1996 that aims to recognize the best cosmetology work. Entrants submitted photos to compete in one of a number of award categories for students, professionals, salons, academy teams, and alumni.
I received an invite to the Plano academy to watch the award show and to celebrate with other attendees. As each category came up and the name and work of someone from the North Texas area flashed on the screen, the crowd of more than 150 people screamed in support of their peers. In the end, two of the top awards, TON&GUY Professional Hairdresser of the Year and TIGI Professional Colourist of the Year, were presented on site to two very talented individuals (image above) at the Plano academy watch party.
